See everything you know about one person
Customer 360 folds every synced record for one person into a single profile and shows each tool's record side by side, so you stop comparing three screens to answer one question. It matches on email address and keeps each field from whichever tool you rank highest. If you want the people held twice inside one tool, read Find the duplicate records in your tools instead.
Before you start
You need one tool connected and its first sync finished. Matching is by email address, so a record with no email address cannot join a profile. It can still be found by searching.
Tip
Open Intelligence Cloud and read What each tool holds on Overview first. It gives each tool's records, how many have an email address, and how many people that makes.
Find a person and open their records
Open Intelligence Cloud and click Customer 360.
Type a name, an email address or a company into the search box.
The search runs over every synced record inside your focus filters, not only the rows on the page. Several words narrow it: each word has to appear in the name, the address or the company.
Read Held in to see which tools hold a record for this person.
One chip per tool. Two or more chips means the same email address is held in two of your tools.
Click the row to open it.
A table opens with one column per record. Each column is headed by the tool, with Open in followed by the tool's name. In Salesforce the heading also says whether the record is a lead or a contact.
Read down the fields.
Each row is one field: first name, last name, company, job title, phone, country, state or region, industry, lifecycle stage, lead status and owner, then the date the record was created and its last activity. A field no tool holds is left out.
Look for the rows shaded amber.
Amber means two tools hold different values. Value that stands shows which one MarqIQ keeps, with the tool it came from underneath.
Note
Values are shown the way the tool shows them. A lifecycle stage or an owner appears by its name, never by the id the tool stores.
How the records were matched
MarqIQ groups records that share an email address, ignoring capital letters. Nothing else joins two records into a profile, so every match is exact.
- A person with two email addresses is two profiles.
- A record with a blank email address joins nothing. Overview counts those per tool, and searching here finds them, marked No email address.
- A typo in an email address makes a separate profile, because the match is exact.
Which tool's value stands
For every field, MarqIQ walks your tools in your order and keeps the first value that is not empty. A blank in your top tool passes the field to the next one. The most recent activity date across the records is the one used.
Click Sync & Governance in the tab strip across the top.
Read Which tool's value stands.
It lists the tools that hold records in this workspace, in order. With one tool there is nothing to rank, and the panel says so.
Use the arrows beside a tool to move it up or down.
The new order saves as you click and applies everywhere a profile is built.
The starting order puts CRMs first: Salesforce, HubSpot, Microsoft Dynamics, Pipedrive, Zoho CRM, then Marketo Engage, Pardot, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Mailchimp, Adobe Campaign and Adobe Journey Optimizer. An uploaded spreadsheet ranks after every tool.
Which people are listed
Before you search, the page lists the 300 people with the highest fit score. The line above the table gives the total number of people and how many are held in more than one tool, so you can see how much sits behind the 300. Searching reaches everyone.
Focus filters choose the slice of your synced records that MarqIQ works on, and they are saved for the whole workspace, so a colleague narrowing them changes what you see. Above that sits a working window of 60,000 records, newest first, with records that hold an email address filling it before those that do not.
Take care
Every sync pulls your whole tool database. Focus filters only choose what MarqIQ analyses afterwards. Clearing them puts everything back with no re-sync, because nothing was left out of the sync.
What the two scores mean
Quality is the person's data quality score, explained on Data Quality. Fit is a reading from 0 to 100 of seniority, industry and a work email address. To standardize counts the values on this person that do not match your standards; they are corrected under Normalization.
If it did not work
One tool shows 40,000 records but hardly any people
Why: Most of those records have no email address, and matching is by email address, so they cannot join a profile.
Fix: Open Overview and read What each tool holds. The last column gives the records with no email address, tool by tool. Those records are still covered by Normalization, which works record by record.
A person you know is in a tool does not come up in the search
Why: Focus filters put that record out of scope, or the record was deleted in the tool, or the last sync has not brought it in yet.
Fix: Open Overview. If focus filters are set, click Edit focus filters and check them. Then open Sync & Governance and read the tool's line under Sync health to see when it last synced.
There is no Open in link above a record
Why: MarqIQ cannot build a working address for a record in that tool. The line under the table gives the reason.
Fix: Search for the email address in the tool itself.
A value you corrected in your CRM yesterday is still the old one here
Why: Customer 360 reads MarqIQ's synced copy of your records, not your tool live.
Fix: Open Connected tools, sync that tool, then reload the page.
The wrong tool's job title is the one that stands
Why: Your order ranks that tool above the one you trust, or the tool you trust holds a blank in that field and the value passed down the list.
Fix: Open the person and read the row: every tool's value is shown. If the tool you trust holds the right value, move it up under Which tool's value stands on Sync & Governance.
The same person appears as two rows
Why: The two records carry different email addresses, so they were never one profile.
Fix: Open both and compare the two addresses. Correct a typo in the tool and sync; the two rows become one. A personal address and a work address are two profiles by design.
