Open the exact records behind a finding

Last updated 19 October 2026Available onFree TrialProBusinessEnterprisePartnerNeedsHubSpotSalesforcePipedriveZoho CRMMicrosoft DynamicsMarketoThe drill-down is on the Field discipline analysis, which needs a tool that exposes a record’s change history. A link out to the record needs HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive or Dynamics 365; Zoho CRM and Marketo list the records without links, and say why.

When a finding says a number of records are affected, it is not an estimate — the analysis held those exact records while it counted them. Clicking the number lists them, each with the name and detail your tool shows and, where MarqIQ holds the tool’s web address, a link straight to the record. This article covers what the list is, what it deliberately is not, and which connections can link out today.

Before you start

  • A finished sync on a tool that exposes change history: HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Zoho CRM, Dynamics 365 or Marketo.
  • A run of the Field discipline analysis that raised at least one of the four findings listed below.
  • To follow a link, permission to open that record in the tool itself. MarqIQ sends you to the record; your tool decides whether you may see it.

Where the button appears

Only on the Field discipline analysis. The other eight analyses report counts without carrying the record ids, so they have no button to click. MarqIQ states that limit here rather than leaving you to look for a button that does not exist.

Open the list

  1. Open Insights in the left-hand menu, then Analysis.

  2. Pick the tool along the top.

  3. Choose Field discipline.

  4. Find the finding and click Show the 1,482 deals.

The button carries the real count and the right word for what they are — deals, people or companies.

  5. Read the grey line at the top of the list before the rows.

It says whether you are seeing all of them or an even spread of them, and it always adds that others may be affected beyond the sample that was read.

  6. Click Open on a row to go to that record in your tool.

It opens in a new tab. A row with no Open button is a connection MarqIQ cannot address, and the reason is given in the amber line above the rows.

What each row shows

The rows are read back out of MarqIQ’s synced copy, in the order the finding counted them, so the list cannot drift from the number on the button.

ObjectThe lineThe detail under it
DealsThe deal name, or “Untitled deal”The stage, whether it is open, won or lost, and the close date
PeopleThe full name, or the email address when there is no nameThe company and the lifecycle stage
CompaniesThe company name, or its domainThe domain and the industry

Labels, never internal values

A stage arrives from your tool as an id or a raw key. It is put through the same labeller the analyses use before it reaches the row, so you see “Solution Validation” where your tool shows it, never the number behind it.

The cap, and why the list is spread rather than truncated

A finding carries up to 200 record ids. Where more than 200 records were found, the ids kept are spread evenly across the whole set — not the first 200 and not the most recent 200.

  • The button still shows the real total. It reads “Show the 1,482 deals” even though 200 will be listed.
  • The line above the rows then says so: “An even spread of 200 of the 1,482 deals this was found on — not the first or the most recent, so the list is not skewed.”
  • A list ordered by something you cannot see is a biased sample dressed as a complete one. The most recent 200 of a first-touch problem would be the 200 newest records, which is exactly the group least likely to show it.
  • Where 200 or fewer were found, the whole set is listed and the line says so instead.

Two different samples, stated separately

The count itself was taken on the records whose change history the analysis read, which is its own sample of your store. The 200 are a sample of that count. That is why the line ends “Others may be affected beyond the sample that was read” — the finding’s own evidence sentence gives the first denominator, and this line gives the second.

MarqIQ never guesses a web address. A link that lands nowhere is worse than no link, so a connection whose address is not held lists the records with no link and says why in its own words.

ToolCan it link? What it needs, or why not
HubSpotYesThe portal id and the portal’s own web address. That address differs between HubSpot regions and cannot be guessed, so reconnecting HubSpot is what picks it up
PipedriveYesThe company’s Pipedrive address. Reconnecting Pipedrive picks it up
SalesforceYesThe instance address. Reconnecting Salesforce picks it up
Dynamics 365YesThe organisation address. Reconnecting Dynamics picks it up
Zoho CRMNoZoho’s record addresses include an organisation id MarqIQ does not hold yet, and a guessed link would not open. The records are listed with everything the finding rests on
MarketoNoMarqIQ holds Marketo’s API address, which is not the address you sign in to, so a link would land nowhere

Tip

Where a tool can link but the address is missing, the amber line says exactly that and tells you reconnecting fixes it. It is written as MarqIQ’s gap to close, because it is one.

Which findings offer it

Four findings on Field discipline carry their records, and they are the four where knowing which records is the whole point.

  • A field being replaced after it is first set — the first-touch overwrite. The records are the ones whose value was changed.
  • Two things fighting over a field — the value set, set back and set again. The records are the ones where it flipped at least four times.
  • A stage going backwards. The records are the ones that moved to a stage they had already passed.
  • Close dates being pushed rather than forecast. The records are the open deals whose date moved later three times or more.

Why there is no “build this list in my CRM” button

This is asked often enough to answer plainly. No CRM opens an arbitrary set of records as a list from a web address. HubSpot, Salesforce and Pipedrive can each deep-link one record, and each needs a saved list, view or filter — an object created inside the tool — before a set can be opened.

Creating that object is a write to your tool. A write like that belongs in a change set, where you see what is proposed and approve it before anything happens, and where you can undo it afterwards. A link is not the place for one. So the set is listed here and each row links out, and the day a change set can create the list for you, this is the one place that answer will come from.

Taking the list somewhere else

There is no export on this panel today. Two things do carry the same evidence out of MarqIQ:

  • The finding’s own See it for yourself line — the last line on the card, under the fix steps — tells you where that tool keeps a field’s change history, so you can confirm the finding on a record. It is not a filter, so it will not hand you the set.
  • A reproduction line that IS a filter, and so does rebuild a whole count, belongs to the other analyses: the Field Intelligence page, behind See how to check this yourself, and the See it for yourself line on an audience, funnel, form-fills or email card.
  • The Integration Audit Report has CSV buttons on its field completeness, deal and automation cards, and prints whole to PDF.

If it did not work

No Show the … button on a finding you want to chase

Why: Only the four Field discipline findings above carry record ids. Everything else reports a count and the way to reproduce it.

Fix: Read that finding’s See it for yourself line, but know which kind you have. On an audience, funnel, form-fills or email card, and on the Field Intelligence page, it is a filter you can rebuild in your tool to get the whole set. On a Field discipline card it is narrower: it names where that tool keeps the field’s change history, which confirms the finding one record at a time. For a whole set from Field discipline, the Integration Audit Report CSV is the way out.

The list opens but every row is missing its Open button

Why: This connection cannot address a record. Either the tool is one MarqIQ does not link into, or the tool’s web address is not held yet.

Fix: Read the amber line above the rows — it names which of the two. Where it asks you to reconnect, reconnect from Data sources and the links appear by themselves.

“None of these deals is in the synced copy any more”

Why: Every record the finding counted has since been deleted or merged in the tool. The list is not re-queried, so a deleted record does not come back.

Fix: Re-run the analysis. The finding will be recounted on what is there now.

The list is shorter than the button said, with a line about records no longer in the synced copy

Why: Some of the records were deleted in the tool after the analysis ran. MarqIQ says how many rather than quietly shortening the list.

Fix: Nothing, unless the number is large. A big gap means a bulk delete or merge happened since, and the finding is worth re-running.

“Too many requests in a minute”

Why: The record list is limited to 60 reads a minute per workspace.

Fix: Wait a moment and open it again. Opening one finding at a time rather than every finding at once avoids it.

A record opens in the tool and looks fine

Why: Most of these findings are about a record’s history, not its present value. A field that was overwritten in March holds a perfectly reasonable value today.

Fix: Open the field’s change history on that record — the property history in HubSpot, the field history in Salesforce, the changelog in Pipedrive — and read the write the finding is about.
