Read your first analysis

Starter does not include Analysis.

MarqIQ runs up to nine analyses on a connected tool — which ones depends on what that tool can give it — and a tenth tab summarises them. This article walks you through that summary in the order it is meant to be read. If you want the ranked list of what to do about it all, read What should you fix first? next.

Before you start

You need one tool connected and one sync finished. A tool that is connected with nothing synced is still listed, and says 0 people synced.

Tip

Start on Overview rather than on a single analysis. It is the fastest cross-analysis read. Suggested Plan also ranks across the analyses and goes further — see What should you fix first?

Open the Overview

  1. Open Insights in the left-hand menu, then Analysis.

The page opens on your system of record — the tool holding deals, else the one holding the most people — or on the tool you chose last time. Every connected tool with data is a pill along the top.

  2. Pick the tool you care about along the top.

The nine analyses and the Overview sit in a row of buttons under it, each showing the question it answers.

  3. Click Overview.

It runs every analysis that applies to this tool and reads each one’s own verdict. It adds no finding of its own, so it can never disagree with the analysis behind it.

  4. Read the line under In short.

One sentence: how many of the analyses found something to act on, how many of those are doing harm right now, and which one to start with.

  5. Read Start here.

A numbered list: the first thing each analysis would have you do, most harmful first. Every item carries the analysis it came from, so you can open it in one click.

Note

Nothing on the Overview changes anything in your tool. The screen says so itself, under the Start here heading.

What each card is telling you

Below Start here there is one card per analysis, each with a state badge. The badge is the fastest read on the page.

BadgeWhat it meansWhat to do
Something to act onThe analysis found a fault or a risk.Open it. Source truth, Field discipline, Forecast accuracy and Audience health carry the steps on each finding under How to fix it; the other five gather them into one What to do next card.
Nothing to doIt ran, it looked, and it found nothing.Nothing. Re-run it after any change to forms, imports, integrations or automations.
Not enough to go on yetIt ran and there is too little data to judge.Open it. Each analysis says what it is waiting for.

Not set up yetYour tool supports this and you have not built it.Open it. You get the build for your tool, your deal size and your sales cycle.

The five states a card can be in.

How urgent is it?

Every item in Start here carries one of three labels. They are not a rating of how interesting a finding is. They say whether damage is still being done.

LabelWhat it means
Doing harm nowReserved for damage still happening: a field being overwritten this month, an automation switched on and erroring, paid channels losing credit today.
Costing you resultsA real problem, and it is not getting worse by the day.
Worth a lookAn observation. It does not reach the Suggested Plan at all.

Note

Ties are settled by a fixed order of the analyses, so the list does not reshuffle between visits. Two people looking at the same account see the same first item.

The anatomy of a finding

Open any analysis and the findings are laid out the same way, most serious first. Read them in this order.

  • The title, with a Still happening pill when the fault is current.
  • What we found — the evidence, in sentences that carry their own denominators, with a few real values as examples.
  • What it damages — what this costs you in the budget conversation or the forecast review.
  • How to fix it — numbered steps that name the form, the workflow, the field or the value in question.
  • A last line beginning “See it for yourself” — how to reproduce the number in your own tool.

Three things to check before you act on a number

  1. Read the population line above the findings.

It says what was read, out of what: “Read all 77,662 people”, or “Read 20,000 of 62,410 people created 1 Jul 2026 – 30 Sep 2026 (of 77,662 in all): an even sample spread across the whole period. Shares are reliable; counts are the sample’s.” A sampled read is stated in the header, never in a footnote.

  2. Check whether the finding says Still happening.

A fault that stopped six months ago and a fault running today need different answers. The first is a clean-up, the second is a cause to find.

  3. Open How this was worked out at the foot of the analysis.

On Lead scoring, Funnel and Form fills the same section is headed How we worked this out. Either way it lists that analysis’s own method: how many records were read, what the thresholds were, and what was deliberately not counted.

Check how fresh the reading is

Up to five analyses read your tool live and say when they last did it: Field discipline, Forecast accuracy, Email, Automations, and — on HubSpot and Marketo only — the half of Form fills that reads your tool’s own forms. Each of the other four is there only if your tool can feed it, so five is the ceiling rather than the norm.

  1. Look at the line above the headline.

On Field discipline, Forecast accuracy and Form fills it reads “As HubSpot held it on 24 Sep 2026. Kept for a day.” Email and Automations name the date without that sentence, because their readings are held for minutes, not a day.

  2. Click Read the latest from your tool to read it again.

On the Email analysis the same link reads Read the latest results from your tool. The page dims while it works rather than emptying, so you keep the figures you were looking at.

Take care

Source truth, Audience health, Lead scoring and Funnel have no last-read line and no button. They read the records already synced into your workspace, so their figures move when a sync brings in new ones. Open Intelligence Studio then Data sources and run a sync first.

Set the period you are looking at

Above the tabs there is a Created filter with presets — All time, Last 30 days, Last 90 days, This quarter, Last quarter, This year, Last 12 months — plus Custom and Clear. It scopes the record-based analyses, the Data Audit, the Executive Read and the Suggested Plan to the same people and deals, so two screens cannot disagree about how many people you have.

Three analyses read the range differently

Automations ignore it entirely, because an automation is not a record with a created date. Nothing on that screen says so, so do not read an unchanged figure there as a fault. Email reads the range as a send window and covers the last 90 days when you pick nothing. The script-captured half of Form fills reads it as the date the fill was submitted.

If it did not work

A tab is muted with a dashed border and you want to know why

Why: That analysis cannot run on this tool at all, so the tab is shown muted rather than removed.

Fix: Click it. The tab still opens. It shows one sentence naming the limit — that the tool does not expose a record’s change history, does not send marketing email, or that MarqIQ cannot read its forms yet. An analysis shows zero, is greyed out, or says it is not set up covers all four causes.

Every card says “Not enough to go on yet”

Why: Nothing is synced from this tool, or the date range you picked holds almost no records.

Fix: Click Clear on the Created filter first. If the cards stay empty, open Intelligence Studio then Data sources and press Sync next to the tool.

The figures changed since you last looked and nothing was fixed

Why: A sync brought in new records, or somebody changed the Created range, which is carried in the page address and is shared when you send the link.

Fix: Check the sentence under the filter: it names the period and the count, such as “12,400 of 77,662”. Click Clear to go back to all time.

There is no Insights row in your left-hand menu

Why: Insights is not part of Starter. Rows your plan does not carry are not shown at all.

Fix: Open Plan & billing under Account & Team and move to Pro or above. The free trial already includes it.
