Upgrade your plan or add seats
One screen holds your plan, what you have used against its limits and the tiers you can move to. Read it before you upgrade, because the answer is often a seat or a tool rather than a tier. For the limits themselves, plan by plan, read Your plan's limits, and what happens when you reach one.
See what you have used
Open Account & Team in the sidebar.
Choose Plan & billing.
The page is headed Subscription.
Read the four cards across the top.
They are Current Plan, Users, Integrations and Status. On a free trial the Current Plan card counts the days remaining.
Read the Users bar in the Usage card.
It shows people seated against the seat limit. Once you have bought seats, MarqIQ names the two halves beside it — the number your plan includes, and the number you added.
Read the Connected tools bar under it.
The bar says that Google Tag Manager is free, because it never counts against the allowance. Neither do the AI accounts you connect.
Scan the Feature Access list.
A tick means your plan includes it. A cross carries a badge naming the plans that do, so you can see what an upgrade would open.
Compare the tiers under Available Plans.
Your own plan carries a Current badge. The others carry Upgrade, or Choose plan if you are on a trial or expired. View full pricing at the foot of the list opens the pricing page.
Note
A usage bar turns red at 90% of its limit.
Note
The Usage card is not drawn on an expired workspace. Renew and the bars come back.
Add a seat
Click Add seats under the Users bar.
It opens the checkout with one more seat than you already have. The link appears on Starter, Pro and Business, and not on a trial.
Set the number with the − and + buttons beside Additional users.
One order can add up to 50 seats.
Read the line items under the count.
A top-up part-way through your term is charged only for the days left in it, and the line says "(rest of your term)" when it is.
Choose a payment method under Choose payment method on the right.
Complete the payment.
Move up a tier
Click Upgrade on the plan you want.
On a trial or an expired workspace the same button reads Choose plan. Either one opens the pricing page with that tier selected.
Choose Monthly or Yearly.
Yearly is ten months for twelve — the toggle is marked 2 months free.
Choose your currency from the list beside the toggle.
MarqIQ suggests one from where you are and remembers your choice. Prices in a currency other than the one you are charged in are shown with a ≈ sign.
Complete the payment.
The plan activates when the payment does. Everything the new tier includes is open on your next page load.
Note
Enterprise has no self-serve checkout. Its card on the pricing page offers Talk to us rather than a price, because its limits and its write-back capabilities are scoped with you rather than published.
Try a feature for seven days
A locked feature can be opened for seven days, once per workspace, with no card. The offer sits on the lock panel as Try it free for 7 days.
Open the locked screen.
Click Try it free for 7 days on the lock panel.
The feature opens as soon as the page reloads, and it relocks by itself when the seven days are up.
Take care
Today that button is offered on the AI Answer Visibility screens only. The other trialable features carry no lock panel, so there is no self-serve way to start their trial from inside the product — ask support instead.
- One trial per feature per workspace, ever. A second attempt is refused and says so.
- A trial opens a feature. It does not raise your seat, tool or form-submission limits — those are plan numbers, not features.
- A trial needs an active workspace. An expired one is told to renew first.
If it did not work
The checkout shows a sentence about a permission where the payment buttons should be
Why: Your role does not hold Manage on Plan & Billing. The checkout shows every member the price, and takes a payment only from a role that holds it.
Fix: Ask a Workspace Admin to place the order. To pay yourself, ask them to move you to a role that holds Manage on Plan & Billing, on the Team & roles screen.
You upgraded and a screen is still locked
Why: The page was loaded under the old plan and is showing what it read then.
Fix: Reload the page. Your plan is resolved on each request, so the new tier applies on the next one.
The Users bar shows more people than you can see in the member list
Why: It does not. The bar counts seated members only. Pending invitations are not on the bar, but they do count against the limit when you try to invite somebody.
Fix: Open Team & roles and check Pending Invites. Revoke any you no longer need.
A screen you expect is missing from the sidebar entirely
Why: A screen your plan does not include is hidden rather than shown locked, unless it carries its own lock panel.
Fix: Check the Feature Access list. A cross beside the feature, with a plan badge next to it, is your answer. If the tick is there, the cause is your role, or a tool the screen needs that you have not connected. Read What each role can see and do for the first.
You cannot connect a second CRM on Pro
Why: Pro allows two tools with one per category, so a second CRM is refused even though you have an allowance left.
Fix: Move to Business, which allows four tools in any category and names two CRMs as allowed.
The Add seats link is not there
Why: Seats are sold on Starter, Pro and Business. A trial has nothing being billed yet, and Enterprise seat counts are agreed rather than priced.
Fix: On a trial, choose a plan first. On Enterprise, talk to us about your agreed seat count.
The banner says the workspace is suspended, not expired
Why: Suspension is a deliberate account hold and is not cleared by paying. The banner carries its own wording and its own next step for exactly this reason.
Fix: Read the contact line in the banner and raise a case from Support. Checkout will refuse a suspended workspace.
The invitation you sent after buying a seat is still refused
Why: Members and pending invites together hold the seats. A seat bought while two invitations are outstanding is taken by the next one accepted.
Fix: Open Team & roles, revoke a pending invite you no longer need, and send the invitation again.
